FreelancerKit is a workspace for freelancers that keeps clients, per-client task boards, a time tracker and
PDF invoices in one app. It will be open-sourced under AGPLv3 at launch.
Try the invoice step below. It runs in your browser and sends nothing. The rest of the app is still being
written.
Built to run on the Cloudflare free plan. No per-seat fee.

Three apps, three bills, one job typed twice
You plan a task in a board, log its hours in a timer, then retype both into an invoice. Each step lives in
a different app with its own login and its own monthly charge.
The table shows one plausible set of tools. Swap in the ones you use and the total rarely drops below
what you see here.

One loop from client to invoice
1
Add the client
Set the hourly rate, payment terms and tax rate once. Every task and invoice for that client uses them.
2
Keep a board per client
Each task has a status. A task can carry a flat fee, like $25 for moving a domain, instead of hours.
3
Start a timer on the task
Stopping the timer adds the minutes to that task. Nothing is copied into a second app.
4
Tick done tasks, create the invoice
Each line is hours times rate. Flat-fee tasks keep their fee. Subtotal, tax and total follow.
03
Try step four with a real board
Tick tasks on the left, or start a timer on one. Press Create invoice and the sheet on the right fills in.
It keeps updating as you change the board. A running timer counts one minute per second so you can see the
hours move. Nothing is saved or sent.

At launch it will run in your own Cloudflare account
FreelancerKit will be open-sourced under the GNU AGPLv3 at launch. From then on you can read every line,
change it and host it for your own business without paying anyone.
Self-hosting will mean the Worker and the database belong to your Cloudflare account. Your clients, tasks
and invoices will sit in your own D1 database. We will run no server that sees them, and the license has
no seat count, so there is no per-seat fee.
The API is written to start closed. Until you set a password hash, a Better Auth secret or Cloudflare
Access, it returns 403 Setup Required on every route except /health. No setting turns sign-in off.

Questions freelancers ask
What is FreelancerKit?
FreelancerKit is a workspace for freelancers, still in development, that keeps clients, per-client task boards, a time tracker and PDF invoices in one app. You tick finished tasks and it builds the invoice from the hours you tracked. It will be open-sourced under AGPLv3 at launch.
Is FreelancerKit released?
No. It is in development. The API skeleton, the installable web app shell and this page's demo exist. Clients, boards, the timer and PDF export are still being built. The waitlist on this page is the way to hear when it ships.
What will it cost?
Core time tracking and invoicing are free and unlimited on every tier. Self-hosting will be open-sourced under AGPLv3 at launch and run on your own Cloudflare account. Cloud Free is planned at $0 for web-only use. Planned upgrades include a $39 one-time Believer key, Cloud Sync at $4 a month billed yearly ($5 monthly), Portal & Autopilot Pro at $8 a month billed yearly ($10 monthly), and Studio at $19 a month for up to 5 seats. Planned pricing; nothing is for sale yet.
Where is my data stored?
At launch, in a D1 database inside your own Cloudflare account. Nobody else will hold a copy. You will be able to export or delete it with Cloudflare's tools, and to read the schema once the source is published.
Is FreelancerKit an alternative to Invoicely, Toggl Track or HoneyBook?
It will cover the same jobs in one app. Invoicely's free plan allows 5 invoices a month and 3 saved clients. Toggl Track's Starter plan costs $9 a month. HoneyBook's starter plan costs $35 a month. These prices come from our research notes, so check each vendor for current plans. FreelancerKit will differ in three ways. The code will be open-sourced at launch, you will host it yourself, and clients, time and invoices live in one place.
What will AGPLv3 mean for me as a freelancer?
FreelancerKit will be open-sourced under AGPLv3 at launch. From then on you can use, change and host it for your own business without paying or asking. If you modify it and offer it to other people as a network service, you must publish your changes under the same license.
What stops a fresh deploy from being open to the internet?
The API checks its configuration on every request. Until you set a password hash, a Better Auth secret, or Cloudflare Access settings, every route except /health returns 403 with a Setup Required message. There is no setting that turns authentication off.
